Here is some information about this gorgeous Gemstones:
Tiger Eyes Gems:
Tiger's eye (also called tiger eye) is a chatoyant gemstones. As members of the quartz group, tiger's eye and the related blue-colored mineral hawk's eye gain their silky, lustrous appearance from the parallel inter-growth of quartz crystals and altered amphibole fibers that have mostly turned into limonite.
They display a chatoyancy (cat's-eye) when a polished stone is moved back and forth in incident light. It is a quartz gemstone, usually amber to brown in color, that forms when fibers of the mineral crocidolite are replaced by silica. This structure of parallel fibers is preserved in the stone, and the chatoyant "eye" crosses the parallel fibers at right angles. Most tiger's-eye used as a decorative gems is brown in color. A similar material with a gray-blue color is known as "hawk's-eye" Like mentioned. Is possible to find Red, blue, purple, and green tiger's-eye. These colored stones are usually treated with heat or dye to achieve interesting variations.
